CHAVITA, which stands for Chama cha Viziwi Tanzania (Tanzania Association of the Deaf), is an organization established in 1983 to facilitate a better future for Deaf people in Tanzania. It promotes economic empowerment by linking Deaf people with resources such as capital, trainings, and income-generating activities, and advocates for the use of sign language to break communication barriers.
